More About Nigerian Dwarf Goats

Nigerian Dwarf Goats originated from West Africa and were not well known at first.  Eventually, after nearly becoming extinct, the breed was recognized, and became popular.  A hardy breed that can produce about a quart of rich delicious milk per milking. As well as outstanding milk production, these goats are valued for their small size and sweet and friendly attitude.

About Our Goats

IMG_1538.jpg

Health Care

Babies will be given their first shot and one booster: Clostridium Perfringens Types C and D- Tetanus Toxoid.

We will disbud most of the kids. If you want a goat with horns, we will not disbud that kid. Note: At a certain age kids can not be disbudded anymore, we will not dehorn.

Food

We keep our goats  in a pasture so they mainly eat grass, but I also feed them alfalfa, powdered minerals, and goat grain.

Goats Are Social

All goats must be with another goat. This is not an option. I will not sell a single baby unless you already own at least one more goat.

Testing

All goats on our farm were tested CAE, CL, Johnes, and Q fever free on August 20, 2018, all results were negative. Other than that we keep a completely closed herd.

Reservation Policy

To confirm a reservation, we require a $50 deposit. (Reservations are booked when deposit is received.) If a kid of your reserved gender is not born, you may apply your deposit to another available kid or have your deposit refunded. If a breeding already has two reservations for kids of a particular sex, we will hold your place in line with no deposit required.

Since we can’t predict the number or sex of kids that will be born, we encourage you to let us know your second and third choice should a kid from your first choice breeding not be available.
